I have received with great sadness the news of the passing of the Right Honourable Raila Odinga. He was a skilled leader, a lover of peace, and a Pan-Africanist whose influence extended not only within Kenya but across East Africa and the entire African continent.
On behalf of the Government and the people of the United Republic of Tanzania, I send my heartfelt condolences to the President of the Republic of Kenya, Hon. Dr. William Samoei Ruto, Mama Ida Odinga, the children, family, relatives, friends and all the people of Kenya for this great loss.
This is not only Kenya’s loss but a loss for all of us. May God grant comfort to his family and rest his soul in eternal peace.
