Your Excellency and Dear Brother,
It was with deep consternation and immense sadness that I learned of the passing of His Excellency Raila Amolo Odinga, former Prime Minister of the Republic of Kenya and one of the most prominent and influential political figures in your country’s contemporary history.
In this time of national mourning, on behalf of the People and Government of the Republic of Mozambique and on my own behalf, I extend to Your Excellency, to People and the Government of the Republic of Kenya and to the bereaved family, our most heartfelt and sincere condolences.
Raila Odinga will be remembered as a courageous and visionary leader whose unwavering dedication to democracy and public service marked his entire life. He fought tirelessly for the rights, dignity, and aspirations of the Kenyan people.
His legacy, both as Prime Minister and as the Opposition Leader, is a testament to resilience, integrity, and commitment to the public cause. With his passing, Africa loses one of its most distinguished sons, a true nationalist whose voice will continue to resonate in the struggle for a fairer and more democratic society.
May his memory endure as a source of inspiration to future generations, encouraging them to uphold the values of peace, unity, and development.
I reiterate our solidarity at this difficult time and express my hope that Your Excellency and the Kenyan people will find the strength and comfort needed to overcome this painful loss.
